Nikki Merrifox
is an American landscape painter whose work explores the quiet places where light rests.Working primarily with palette knives and acrylic, she creates luminous landscapes that invite stillness, refuge, and wonder. Her paintings are less about documenting a particular place than about capturing an immersive experience. Each collection reflects a belief that making beautiful things is an act of hope. Through layered color and expressive texture, her work offers moments of sanctuary — places the viewer can return to long after leaving the landscape itself.Nikki lives in Utah with her husband and two children, where she paints, writes, and continues building the Where Light Rests series.Let’s Work Together
A commission doesn’t begin with a decision. It begins with a conversation.
Reach out, even if you’re not sure yet — about size, medium, timing, or whether now is the right moment at all. I’ll ask about the space a painting might call home: its light, its walls, who will live alongside it. From there, we’ll talk through medium — oil or acrylic each move at their own pace - and timing, since oils need patience to dry and varnish properly.
If it feels right for both of us, a deposit will secure your place on my waitlist and set the work in motion. The remainder isn’t due until the painting is ready to travel to you.
If the timing isn’t right yet — that’s alright too. This is only our first connection. Just knowing you’re out there, enjoying the light and beauty I endeavor to capture, encourages me to continue creating. Thank you for becoming a part of my artistic process.
